GOTHIC DANCES ON TRANSGENDER DIVINITY

THANK YOU EXPONENTIAL FESTIVAL, BROOKLYN ART HAUS, AND ALL WHO CAME TO SEE FAGGOTICA IN JANUARY 2026. THANK YOU. WE LOVE YOU.

TELL ME MORE.

IN FAGGOTICA, time, place, and sound all blur as the landscape oscillates between quiet intimacy and bombastic, collective dance. We observe as trans bodies collide and fall apart. As trans bodies pray viciously. As trans bodies fuck, dream, connect, and reflect. As trans bodies transcend. Somewhere, out there in the glittering fog, in the driving bass, the warbling synth, utter sublimation collides with the sublime. FAGGOTICA is a manifesto for trans bliss.

With references to iconically cis-gay filmography like Fassbinder's Querelle, trans discourse like Susan Stryker’s My Words to Victor Frankenstein Above the Village of Chamounix: Performing Trans Rage, and cultural/social dance discourse like Tricia Henry Young’s Dancing on Bela Lugosi’s Grave: The Politics and Aesthetics of Gothic Club Dancing, FAGGOTICA strikes a relationship between goth/darkwave nightlife and the divine experience of being trans.

FAGGOTICA’s first showing was in December 2023 at TV Eye.
Most Recently: FAGGOTICA was featured in Exponential Festival’s 2026 Season.
